About Me
Hello! My name is Ms. Ashlee but all the kids call me Asheee! I started at First Steps Learning Academy in 2017 and it has been the greatest experience I have ever had at a childcare center. I can’t imagine working anywhere else. I am a very LOUD, fun and outgoing person! I love meeting and talking to people, especially people from different areas! I love to read, crochet and cook. My favorite meal is Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo. It is a dream of mine to visit Alaska! Scary movies are my all-time favorite movies to watch! When I’m not at work I am either relaxing at home or spending time with family! My children and my family are my motivation for everything that I do!
My Family
I have three pretty amazing children. Dayne (14), Jaelynn (13) and Karley (11). They are my whole world and just some of my biggest supporters! I also have a puppy named Kara, she is a mix of Rhodesian Ridgeback, Labrador and American Bulldog. I was born on Eglin AFB, Florida and raised in Niceville, Florida. I currently live in Defuniak Springs, Florida. I have lots of family all around me! I have two brothers and 3 sisters and together I have 8 nephews and 3 nieces. The love and support that I receive from my children and my entire family is just the greatest feeling ever. My family and I attend Freeport Presbyterian Church where I also work in the nursery! My church family is just amazing and just as loving and supportive!
My Experience
Currently I am attending Tallahassee Community College to receive my Associates in Science for Early Childhood Education! I probably would have never felt I could this had it not been for the support and encouragement I received from my Director. I have been working in childcare for over 7 years. I have my required 40 hrs.; my in-service training and I am CPR certified.

Working with Children
I have worked with children for as long as I can remember. Started out as babysitting then went into childcare. I absolutely love working with children. I have been at FSLA for 3 years now and it has been the best experience I've ever had. I love working with toddlers. I love their imagination. Art, Music and Science are my favorite things to do during class. Seeing how the kids create their own art and the way they react to music and the enjoyment on their faces during the science experiment is the best part of my days.
